Yesterday's Story Start...The Fall

The Fall

Our story may not be new to some ...

Almost three years have passed since the fateful day in July 2013 that would forever alter our life paths and put our faith to the extreme test.  We were preparing to celebrate our birthdays together for the 28th time that month...mine on the 14th and his on the 16th.  When we first married, we chose to use the 15th as our shared birthday and time to celebrate.  Mark had just sent me a text to see if I would be able to take some time off to help him take care of a family matter that had been bothering him.  It was right after I received that text on July 10th that I received the call...LS, a co-worker of Mark's, was on the phone... Mark had fallen and been taken to the Las Colinas Medical Center.

I truly don't remember the drive over there...its still all a fog.  When I entered the hospital, many of Mark's co-workers were in the waiting room hoping for some sort of news.  Upon going to the desk and telling them I was Mark's wife, I was escorted into an emergency room where Mark had been placed.  He was breathing but not moving.  He didn't look like my Mark.  He was gray and still...
the doctor said he was unsure what was wrong and that they were going to care flight him to a Plano hospital and the helicopter was on its way.  It arrived within a few minutes and I walked to end of the hall and watched as the love of my life was wheeled out and put on the helicopter and off....

My mind was foggy...what was going on? what had happened?  As I returned to the lobby where Mark's co-workers were gathered I heard them say he collapsed in the parking garage near his vehicle.  A worker had come down with him and saw him fall and called for help...
